Create Your Studio Account
Register your dance studio in Competition Wizard, wait for approval, and sign in to your dashboard.
Use this guide if your dance studio does not yet have a Competition Wizard account. Have your studio's contact information ready. If your studio already has an account, sign in with your director or teacher credentials instead of creating a second studio account.
Open Studio Admin Site
Set Up Your Studio
Select a step to see the instructions.
STEP 1Open Competition Wizard
Go to competitionwizard.com and open the account registration area from the sign-in page.
STEP 2Choose the Studio account type
The registration options include Studio, Independent, and Community Group/School. Studio directors creating an account for a dance studio should select Studio.
STEP 3Complete and save the registration form
Enter the required studio and contact information. Review the details for accuracy, then select Save to submit the account for approval.
STEP 4Wait for account approval
Competition Wizard must approve the new studio account before you can use the system. If you cannot sign in right after registering, allow time for the approval process.
STEP 5Sign in to your studio dashboard
Once your account is approved, return to competitionwizard.com and sign in with your studio director or teacher credentials. The dashboard is your starting point for dancers, master routines, music, and event registration.
Need Help?
HELPOur studio already has an account
Ask your studio director for access to the existing studio account. Use your assigned teacher or director credentials to sign in; your dancers and routines belong under that studio's account.
HELPI registered but cannot access the dashboard
Confirm that you saved the registration form and that the studio account has been approved. If you still cannot sign in after approval, use the site's account assistance or contact Inspire support.
Studio Dashboard Walkthrough
Find the tools for your studio roster, routines, music, event registration, and media in Competition Wizard.
Sign in at competitionwizard.com using your studio director or teacher account. Your studio account must already be active.
Open Studio Admin Site
Explore the Dashboard
Select any section below to see what it is used for.
STEP 1 Start on the Dashboard
After signing in, your dashboard shows your studio's dancer and routine counts, events you have registered for, and events available for registration. Use it as your starting point when you return to the site.
STEP 2 Switch to the Media Site
At the top right of the administrative site, select Go To Media. This opens media.competitionwizard.com, where your studio can open event media, including photos, performance videos, and adjudication videos when available.
Choose the relevant event. If you see a Waiver button, read and complete that event's waiver before accessing its media. Select Go To Competition Wizard at the top of the media site to return to the administrative dashboard.
STEP 3 Find the Studio Tools
Open Studio in the left menu. Its sections help you manage your studio before and during the season:
- Dancers: add and maintain your dancer list.
- Master Routines: build routines and assign dancers.
- Music → Upload: attach an MP3 to each routine and check its upload status.
- Studio Profile: review your studio's contact and account information.
- Users: manage the people who have access to your studio account.
Use the separate step-by-step guides when you are ready to add dancers, create routines, or upload music.
STEP 4 Find the Registration Stages
Open Registration in the left menu. The stages shown in the walkthrough are:
- Competition: choose Inspire Dance Challenge.
- Events: find the event and location you want.
- Reservation: request the number of entries you need.
- Routines: add your routines to an approved event and complete their event details.
- Billing Summary: review your registration details and invoice.
You can request a reservation before every dancer and routine has been entered. Complete your roster and master routines before adding those routines to the event.
Which Area Do I Need?
Choose Studio for dancers, routines, music, profile details, and users. Choose Registration to reserve spots and manage event entries. Choose Go To Media for your event photos and videos.
This article is a tour of the menus. Follow the dedicated guides for the exact steps in each task.
Register for an Event
Reserve your studio’s routine entries, check your approval, and open the event’s routine registration.
You need an approved studio account and your studio director sign-in details. Have the event location, dates, and planned number of routine entries ready.
Open Studio Admin Site
An approved reservation lets you proceed to routine registration. You still need to add your master routines to the event, complete their event-specific details, and finalize registration when ready.
Reserve Your Studio’s Entries
Select a step to open its instructions.
STEP 1 Sign In and Select Inspire
Sign in at competitionwizard.com with your studio director credentials. On your dashboard, under Register for Other Events, select Inspire Dance Challenge.
STEP 2 Choose Your Season and Event
Check the Season selection, then choose the event you wish to attend. Confirm its location and start and end dates before continuing.
If your event is not on the first page, use the list’s page controls to see more events.
STEP 3 Enter Your Planned Routine Count
On the Event Reservation screen, enter your planned routine count in Number of entries. Count routines, rather than individual dancers.
Add any relevant information in Comments, then select Submit Reservation.
STEP 4 Confirm Your Request Was Submitted
The confirmation message says your reservation has been sent for approval. Select OK to return to the event list.
The event’s status now shows Pending Approval. Your request must be reviewed before you can proceed with routine registration.
STEP 5 Watch for Your Reservation Email
The submission message advises that you will be contacted within 24 hours. Watch for an Event Reservation email from Inspire, and check your spam or junk folder too.
Return to the administration portal to check your event’s status. In the video, the status changes from Pending Approval to Registered once the reservation is approved.
STEP 6 Open Your Event’s Routine Registration
Once approved, select the event to open Registration Routines. Use Register Routines to add your saved master routines to this event.
If the screen shows Total Routines: 0, no routines have been added to this event yet. Your reservation alone does not add them.
NEXT Add Your Routines and Complete Registration
Continue with our Master Routines & Event Entries guide to add your routines, set the correct levels, styles, and notes for this competition, and review the assigned dancers.
Select Save changes to keep your event edits. The screen recommends saving every 5–10 minutes while working. Review your entries before using Finalize Registration, then check Step 5 — Billing Summary for the event’s billing information.

HELP I Cannot Find My Event
Check that you selected Inspire Dance Challenge and the correct season. Use the page controls beneath the event list to view additional events.
If the event is still missing, contact Inspire through the Help Centre with the location and dates you are looking for.
HELP My Reservation Still Shows Pending Approval
Check your inbox and spam folder for an Event Reservation email. Return to the portal and refresh the event list to check the latest status.
If you have not received a response after the stated 24-hour contact period, contact Inspire with your studio name, event, and submission date.
HELP I Need to Correct My Reservation Count
Contact Inspire with your studio name, event, original routine count, and revised count so the team can review your request.
HELP My Event Is Registered but Has No Routines
The Registered status shown after approval does not mean your routine entries have been completed. Open the event’s Registration Routines screen and select Register Routines to add your master routines.
If a routine is missing from the selection list, check that it has been created and saved under Studio → Master Routines.
HELP I Still Need Assistance
Visit the Inspire Help Centre and include your studio name, event location and dates, the status shown, and any error message. A screenshot of the relevant screen can help our team investigate.
Dancers & Media Access Codes
Add dancers to your studio account and find the individual Access Codes their families need to link them to Parent Media Accounts.
Your studio account must already be approved. Sign in with your studio director or teacher credentials, and have each dancer's correct name and date of birth ready.
Open Studio Admin Site
Add Dancers & Find Their Codes
Select a step to see the instructions. If the dancer already exists, go straight to Step 5 to find their Access Code.
STEP 1 Sign In and Open Your Dancer List
Sign in at competitionwizard.com with your studio director or teacher credentials. From the dashboard, open Studio → Dancers in the left menu.
STEP 2 Check Whether the Dancer Already Exists
Use the search by name field and select Search. If the dancer already has a record, use that record rather than adding a duplicate. You can find an existing dancer's media Access Code in the same list.
STEP 3 Add a New Dancer
Select Add new dancer. Enter the dancer's first name, last name, and date of birth. Select the appropriate Type and keep the Status set to Active for a current dancer.
Check spelling and the date of birth carefully. Do not add spaces before or after the name. Parents must enter these details exactly as they appear in your record when linking their dancer to a media account.
The system assigns the dancer's ID and Access Code automatically.
STEP 4 Review and Save
Review the dancer's information, then select Save. You will return to the dancer list. Repeat the process for each new dancer you need to add.
STEP 5 Find the Dancer's Media Access Code
Search for the dancer in Studio → Dancers. Their media access number appears in the first column, labelled Access Code.
Each dancer has their own Access Code. Match the code to the correct dancer's row before sharing it with their family.
STEP 6 Give the Family Their Linking Details
Give the family their dancer's Access Code, along with the exact registered first name, last name, and date of birth.
They can create or sign in to their Parent Media Account at media.competitionwizard.com, then use those details to link their dancer.
Send them our Parent Media Account and dancer linking guide for the full instructions.
Troubleshooting
Open the issue that matches what you see.
HELP I Cannot Find a Dancer in the List
Confirm you are in the correct studio account. Check the name entered in the search field, or select Clear to remove the search. Also check whether the Active Dancers Only filter is hiding an inactive record.
If you just added the dancer, confirm that you selected Save. Check for an existing record before adding them again.
HELP I Cannot See the Access Code
Return to Studio → Dancers and look at the first column of the dancer list. The code is assigned automatically; you do not need to create one yourself.
For a new dancer, confirm the record was saved and select Refresh on the dancer list. If the code is still missing, contact support through the Inspire Help Centre.
HELP A Parent Cannot Link Their Dancer
Check that the parent is using the Access Code from the correct dancer's row. Confirm that the first name, last name, and date of birth match your record exactly, including any punctuation that is part of the registered name, with no extra spaces.
Ask the parent to follow the account setup and dancer linking guide. If the details match and linking still fails, contact the Inspire Help Centre.
Master Routines & Event Entries
Create your studio's master routines, assign their dancers, and add them to an event with the correct levels, styles, and notes.
A master routine is your studio's saved record of a dance and its performers. You can use that record when entering different events. Levels, styles, and notes are completed in the event registration because competition requirements can differ.
Your studio account must be approved, and your dancers must already be entered before you assign them to routines. Have the routine names and performer lists ready. An approved event reservation is needed to register routines for that event.
Open Studio Admin Site
Create Routines & Add Them to an Event
Select a section to see the instructions. Use manual entry or the Excel import option to create your master routines, then continue to Step 3.
STEP 1 Open Master Routines
Sign in at competitionwizard.com with your studio director or teacher credentials. Open Studio → Master Routines in the left menu.
STEP 2 Create the Routine and Assign Its Dancers
Select Add new routine. Enter the routine name and the required information shown on the form.
Select the performers from the dancer list on the left, then select Add to move them to the routine's dancer list on the right. Check that every performer is included. To correct a selection, choose the dancer on the right and select Remove.
Select Save. Repeat for each master routine.
OPTION Import Master Routines Using Excel
You can also use Import Routines to create routines from the Excel template provided for that import. Complete the template in its required format and upload it through the import facility.
After importing, review each routine and its assigned dancers before adding it to an event.
STEP 3 Choose the Competition and Event
Open Registration, choose the competition, and select the event or location you are attending. Your reservation must be approved before you can register routines for that event.
STEP 4 Add Your Master Routines to the Event
On the event's routine registration screen, select Register Routines. Choose the master routines from the list on the left and add them to the selected list on the right.
Check your selection, then select Save. The selected routines now appear in the event's registration.
STEP 5 Set Event Levels, Styles, and Notes
For each event entry, choose the appropriate level or classification and style, and enter any relevant notes.
Complete these details in the event registration because categories and requirements differ from competition to competition. Review them each time you enter a routine into a different competition.
Select Save to keep your changes.
STEP 6 Review and Complete Your Registration
Review every entry's assigned dancers, level, style, and notes. When your registration is ready, follow the event's finalization steps to complete it.
Your saved master routine can be used for other events. Review and complete the competition-specific details for each new event registration.
Troubleshooting
Open the issue that matches what you see.
HELP A Dancer Is Missing from the Selection List
Check that the dancer has been added to your studio account and is active. Add or update the dancer under Studio → Dancers, then return to the master routine and check its performer list.
HELP My Routine Is Not Showing in the Event
Confirm that you saved the master routine, opened the correct competition and event, and have an approved reservation. Use Register Routines to add the routine to that event, then save your selection.
Creating a master routine alone does not register it in an event.
HELP My Excel Import Needs Correction
Use the Excel template provided by the import facility and follow its required format. Review any messages shown during import, correct the indicated information, and check the routines and dancer assignments afterward.
Check which records were created before importing again to avoid duplicates.
HELP My Event Details Were Not Saved
After changing an entry's level, style, or notes, select Save on the event registration screen. Review the entries again before finalizing.
If you still need assistance, visit the Inspire Help Centre and provide your studio, competition, event, routine name, and the issue you see.
Upload Music for Your Routines
Attach an MP3 to each master routine in Competition Wizard, then check that every upload has finished processing.
Sign in with your studio director or teacher account. Create and assign your master routines first: each routine must exist before its music can be uploaded. Prepare an MP3 for each routine, using a simple file name with letters and numbers and no special characters.
Open Studio Admin Site
Upload Your Music
Select a step to see the instructions.
STEP 1Sign in to Competition Wizard
Go to competitionwizard.com and sign in with your studio director or teacher credentials. You will arrive at your studio dashboard.
STEP 2Open Studio → Music → Upload
In the left menu, open Studio, then Music and Upload. The upload screen lists the master routines available for music. Find the routine whose track you want to add.
STEP 3Check the music file
Use an MP3 file. Give the file a clear name made from letters and numbers, without special characters. Check that the file is the correct track for the routine you are about to select.
STEP 4Select the routine and upload its MP3
Click Select beside the correct routine and choose its MP3 from your device. Repeat Select beside another routine to add another song. You can choose files for multiple routines while earlier uploads are processing.
STEP 5Refresh and confirm each upload
Cloud processing can take a few minutes. Use the screen's Refresh button to check the status. For each routine, confirm that Successful Upload changes from No to Yes and that an audio player appears. Check every routine you uploaded.
Troubleshooting
Open the issue that matches what you see.
HELPMy routine is missing from the upload list
Create the master routine and assign its dancers first, then return to Studio → Music → Upload. Music needs an existing routine to attach to.
HELPSuccessful Upload still says No
Allow a few minutes for cloud processing, then click Refresh and check again. Make sure the file is an MP3 and its name contains no special characters. If it still does not complete, try selecting the file again.
HELPMy file will not upload
Check that the file is in MP3 format, not just renamed with an .mp3 extension. Rename the file with letters and numbers only, and select it again beside the correct routine.
View Your Video Adjudications After an Event
Find your studio's results, watch each performance with the judges' feedback, and share adjudication videos.
Sign in to the Competition Wizard administration portal with your studio director account. Adjudications become available after the event is closed, typically within 24 hours of the end of the Inspire event. The system sends an Event Closed email when it is ready. You must accept the event's media waiver before viewing its media or adjudications.
Open Studio Admin Site
Find Your Adjudications
Select a step to see the instructions.
STEP 1Sign in and open Media
After receiving the Event Closed email, sign in at competitionwizard.com. On your dashboard, select Go to Media at the top right. This opens your studio's media dashboard and its gallery of past events.
STEP 2Open the event and accept its waiver
Choose the event you want to review. If it shows a red Waiver button, open and review the event's general media release. It covers use of the captured media, including sharing, redistribution, and printing. Agree to the waiver to unlock the event's media and adjudications.
STEP 3Go directly to CAM
After the waiver is complete, select CAM (Competition Assessment Media) to open the adjudication console. Search for a routine by its entry number or entry name to find the one you want.
STEP 4Or find a routine through its Media gallery
Select Media to see your studio's entries and their entry numbers. Open the entry you want. Its gallery contains the event photography and performance video. Select that entry's Adjudication button to open the same routine in CAM.
STEP 5Review marks, placement, and awards
On the left side of CAM, review the entry's consolidated marking and placement information, along with any special awards or competition awards shown for that routine. The video player and each judge's individual score are on the right.
STEP 6Watch and listen to the judges' feedback
Play the routine to hear the judges' critiques alongside the performance. Select a different judge to switch feedback, scrub the play bar to review a moment, and mute the ambient performance sound when you want to focus on a critique.
STEP 7Search another entry or share a video
Use the search at the top of CAM to find another routine by entry number or name. You can also use CAM's email sharing option to send an adjudication video to the addresses you choose, such as a dancer's family.
Helpful Notes
HELPI cannot see the adjudications yet
Check whether the event has closed and look for the Event Closed email. Adjudications are typically available within 24 hours of the event ending. Open the correct event and complete its waiver before looking for Media and CAM.
TIPGive teachers access without administrative permissions
For staff who need to review feedback, create a separate teacher user without administrative access. This lets them use CAM without access to your studio's financial and entry management information.
